JOIA Bavaro Airport Transfer

How Far Is JOIA Bavaro from Punta Cana Airport?

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar is located approximately 25–30 km (15–18 miles) from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). The drive normally takes around 25–35 minutes, depending on traffic conditions at the time of travel.

The resort is located within the Iberostar complex in Bavaro, along with several other Iberostar properties. Because JOIA Bavaro has its own hotel identity and arrival point, it is important to select JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar as your exact destination when making the reservation.

For arrival service, your private vehicle travels directly from PUJ to JOIA Bavaro. For the return journey from JOIA Bavaro to Punta Cana Airport, pickup can be arranged according to your departure information.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar – Formerly Iberostar Grand Bavaro

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar is the current name of the adults-only resort previously known as Iberostar Grand Bavaro. If you visited the property in the past or still see the former name in travel information, both names refer to the same resort within the Iberostar complex in Bavaro.

Travelers searching for transportation from Punta Cana Airport to Iberostar Grand Bavaro should now use JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar as the destination when making a new reservation. Selecting the current hotel name helps ensure that the correct property is identified for your pickup or drop-off.

The change of name does not mean the resort moved to a different location. JOIA Bavaro remains within the same Iberostar resort complex, so transportation continues to use the same hotel destination area in Bavaro.

JOIA Bavaro Transportation for Arrivals and Departures

Private JOIA Bavaro transportation can be reserved for airport arrivals, departures, or round trips. For arrivals, your vehicle is scheduled from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) directly to JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar, with no scheduled stops at other resorts.

For departure service, transportation from JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar to airport can be arranged using your departure flight information and requested travel details. Your pickup takes place directly at the resort for the return journey to PUJ.

Travelers can also reserve a round trip covering both directions in one booking. This keeps the arrival and JOIA Bavaro to Punta Cana Airport departure service together under the same reservation.

Private JOIA Bavaro Airport Shuttle Service

A private JOIA Bavaro airport shuttle means the vehicle is reserved for your party rather than shared with travelers staying at other resorts. Once your group meets the driver and boards the vehicle, the trip continues directly to JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar.

Private service is available for couples as well as families and larger groups, with different vehicle capacities depending on the number of passengers and luggage. For travelers arriving after an international flight, having the transportation arranged in advance also eliminates the need to organize a vehicle after leaving the terminal.

For general information about transportation to other hotels within the same resort complex, see our Iberostar Airport Transfer guide.
